To maintain core orientation across multiple connected inner tubes, it is critical that the inner tubes can be separated at surface without the risk of one inner tube rotating relative to the next length of inner tube, (or relative to the core sample).
To overcome this challenge CoreMAX has recently developed a Patent Pending nonrotating connection system.
This connector works with conventional triple tube systems, allowing for safe and easy core pump – out.
The nonrotating connector is designed to attach to existing inner tubes allowing for a strong and incredibly fast method of joining and separating the inner tubes – without relative rotation.
The added advantage of pumping out the sample with the splits allows for safer handling and better presentation for the geotechnical analysis.
It should be noted that inner tubes can be shortened to accommodate the joiner without affecting the overall length.
We are currently working to develop a non-triple tube version.
